“ So pleasantly surprised by this food experience. Started with fried pickles that were perfectly fried to a thin golden crisp with a spicy mayo. They were abundant in quantity and super enjoyable. Hubby had a Reuben, which is a go-to for him, and it was a good meat to sauerkraut ratio, not overly greasy or fatty. Came with crispy golden steak fries. He gave it an A for taste and value. MIL enjoyed a chicken burrito that was the size of her head. It was jam-packed with chicken and beans and smothered in salsas and sour cream. It was a lot of food in a hearty delivery. She loved it but did leave some of it untouched at the end of her meal due to its sheer size. I had a classic club, triple layer turkey, and bacon in perfectly sized sections. I opted for ranch over mayo, and it was a great sandwich. Everything tasted fresh, and I also got the crispy fries. They were the way I like them - not oily and crispy golden steak style. Overall, we were super pleased with our stop into the Grog. We had kind and attentive service by Melissa and left full and happy. ”

“ Came to Newburyport at the recommendation of coworkers. Nice place to walk around. Google reviews were good for Grog, so I stopped in. Service was quick and friendly. I tried the recommended flounder, and it was very tasty, as was the clam chowder. Definitely coming back when I'm in town again. ”
“ Liked my time here! Even though we sat at the bar and the entire place was super crowded, the service was pretty efficient. The cocktails were made in front of our eyes and were very tasty and definitely not watered down like in some other places (we took Irish coffees). The lobster rangoons were also pretty good! ”
“ Five of us had dinner on a Monday night. We were seated immediately. This is a paper napkin bar and grill with good food. Everyone enjoyed there meal. The quality of service was excellent. My mom is 86 and was cold so the staff turned up the temperature! The atmosphere was quiet enough that the five of us could talk easily. Food came out in a timely manner and the staff was paying attention. Frankly both the front of the house (wait staff) and back of the house (kitchen) did a good job. The halibut burrito was a little mild or lacking in zest but mom’s tri tip was well seasoned. My Brie and pear and turkey panini was great as was the beat salad. I do need to call out the chowder. I am fanatical about my chowder and this was very good which is super rare. The chowder is your classic New England with clam and potatoes and this is a cream broth and very good. This is about as good a chowder as you can get. ”
“ Silva burger always hits. The best burger I’ve had in my life and none has beaten it ever since. The new menu even makes it better. Fries are the best this time around because they make it crispy compared to pre-new menu. Wide variety of beers on draft. New menu adding Mexican and more Asian variety ”
“ Sat at the bar for dinner and drinks on a quiet Monday. Very attentive service, personable bartender. Ordered, a Ceasar salad, hand held haddock burrito and mussels in curry sauce. Everything was excellent including after dinner margarita. ”
“ I had a cheeseburger, the best cheeseburger I’ve had in a long time. THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING! So nice from the beginning, gave us a good time amount to think about what we wanted. The atmosphere is dim, but that’s how it’s supposed to be... kinda the vibe. If you like vibes like this, it would be five stars. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION........ also they get their fish from a local market so you already know it’s going to be good. They won the best burger in New England for 10 years so you DEFINITELY can’t go wrong with a plain cheeseburger.... ”
